Associate of Applied Science - Fashion Design & Merchandising

Have you always wanted to work in the fashion industry? Then the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Fashion Design and Merchandising is for you! We have designed the program so that students will have the opportunity to develop their fashion design talents by exploring a variety of design techniques and combining those techniques with effective marketing methods to promote their unique creations.

The fashion design and Merchandising program is structured to help students grow professionally, as well as personally, so we provide a general education component that can give students a well-rounded educational experience.

Students will explore:

For those individuals who are looking for rewarding, entry-level positions in the commercial art, graphic design and multimedia fields, the Graphic Design program is for you! By combining industry-current technology with traditional design methods, students have the opportunity to cultivate their creative talents in digital imaging, computer illustration, web design, desktop publishing, prepress and advertising techniques. Plus, graphic design and portfolio classes can help prepare students for their internships and professional careers.

Concepts explored in the program include:

  • Drawing and typography

  • Macromedia & Adobe software products
  • Portfolio development

Associate of Applied Science - Interior Design

The Associate of Applied Science degree program in Interior Design is designed to prepare students for rewarding entry- and assistant-level positions in the interior design industry. Students are encouraged to develop original design concepts for interior spaces, and transform these concepts into practical, functional and innovative environments to meet a client's needs.

At the Academy – San Antonio, our Advertising Design program was designed to prepare students for exciting career opportunities in the design, creation and implementation of advertising campaigns as well as marketing design. The program examines the graphic, typographic, photographic and audio / video elements of advertising; supportive advertising copy. The development of marketing and advertising campaigns will be covered and the roles of e-commerce, branding, project management, media planning, and consumer behavior will be studied.

Graduates of the Advertising Design program should be prepared for employment in positions such as:

Our goal in the bachelor's degree program in fashion design and Merchandising is to encourage students to develop their creative talents, so they can come up with new design ideas and innovative ways in which to market those ideas.
