Merchandising professionals are in demand. The Associate of
Applied Science and Bachelor of Arts degree programs in
Merchandising Management from the Academy can provide you with a
combination of hands-on training and aesthetic appreciation so
you can have an opportunity to excel in a career in the growing
field of merchandising.
The merchandising management curriculum is designed to provide
students with a broad knowledge of business in general, and how
business principles relate to various fashion and merchandising
fields. The program combines theoretical elements with practical
applications supported by a strong general education foundation.
Students can choose from two concentrations:
Fashion Merchandising
The fashion merchandising concentration is designed for someone
who wants to specialize in apparel and accessories, image
consulting, fashion or accessories buyer or who may want to own
a boutique.
Retail Operations Management
The retail operations management concentration is a more
general business program with a focus on retail operations;
general operations manager, retail property management,
regional or district management or a position in a corporate
headquarters.

The visual communications program can provide a solid foundation
in art direction, sales promotion and marketing proficiency.
Depending on the concentration chosen, students will have the
ability to perform in their field. Students graduating from this
