Beginning with your first campus visit, you'll notice the CTU difference. Associate of Science in Visual Communications

The associate's level visual communications program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the commercial art, graphic design and multimedia related fields. Students can acquire a working knowledge of drawing, design concepts, typography, digital design, and graphic design skills to create professional, illustrative solutions to commercial design problems.

Using the tools of industry-current technology along with traditional methods students can develop skills in:

• Digital imaging
• Computer illustration
• Web design
• Desktop publishing
• Prepress
• Advertising techniques

Students will create a portfolio to showcase their skills gained in the program. Graphic design, career development and portfolio classes are designed to help prepare students for their internships and professional careers. Students can gain experience using Macromedia and Adobe software along with other popular software programs.

Bachelor of Science in Visual Communications

Businesses rely on all kinds of media to carry their message, make a sale or simply entertain their audience or customer. Graduates who are skilled in solving marketing and communications challenges with a wide range of graphic and digital solutions can have a rewarding future.

Advertising agencies, PR firms, video and film production companies, computer animation houses, printing companies, the media and in-house departments are among the organizations that often seek designers, artists and production managers with bachelor's degrees.

The Bachelor of Science in Visual Communications (BSVC) degree program is designed to build a strong base of contemporary, real-world business skills and is taught by professors who are experienced visual communications professionals.

In addition to important undergraduate foundation studies, you can learn how to assess communication challenges and identify approaches to solving them and analyze the effectiveness of graphic and digital concepts. During the program, you will have opportunities to work in a multimedia design environment, prepare complex design projects in a studio-like environment and build a professional portfolio.
