The Associate of Arts in Fashion Design program instills characteristics that employers in the design industry want to see, including a strong foundation of design, illustration, computer and presentation skills. Students gain hands-on experience not only in pattern making, clothing construction, draping and specialty design, but also in creating storyboards and visual presentations from illustration and computer techniques.

The implementation of computer graphics into the curriculum provides even more of a competitive edge by using the computer for fashion illustrations, textile design, flat drawings and specifications, graphic layouts and spreadsheets. The curriculum is constantly reviewed by the Advisory Board to meet the needs of industry demands and changes.

Upon completion of the program, graduates may pursue careers in entry-level positions such as assistant designer, illustrator, pattern maker, graphic artist, spec illustrator, stylist, technical designer, CAD or CAM operator and many more.

Associate of Arts in Interior Design

Professional interior designers need to speak the language of both client and contractor. Their job is both creative and technical, aesthetic and practical. They are expected to coordinate a consultation through conception and completion, including space planning, design development and installation. They must understand furnishings, finishes, colors, lighting, architectural detailing and all the other elements of design.

The first year of this program establishes a firm base in design and core classes with emphasis on the language and terminology needed to communicate in the field as well as an understanding of the business aspects of design. The second year further develops the student's knowledge and design skills and allows for advanced study practice in all areas of interior design, including the use of computers as design tools.

Note: Bauder College is not an online school. The programs are offered on its campus in Altanta, GA and students must currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Atlanta, GA area to attend one of Bauder College's programs.
