Bachelor's - Animation and Visual Effects

The expression animation and visual effects program is designed to enhance the student's knowledge and skills through an intensive series of courses that cover a wide spectrum of digital visual media including 3D modeling and animation, texture and lighting, compositing, digital film and video effects, creating graphics for the internet and more.

Students gain experiential knowledge through extensive lab time using multiple hardware platforms. A one-to-one (student-to-machine) lab ratio allows students to individually explore the intricacies of a wide variety of graphics software. Students create a series of projects throughout the program in addition to a final project specially developed to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities to potential employers.

Graphics and compositing software and hardware utilized in the program include packages from Alias|Wavefront Maya, Adobe, Macromedia, Kaydara, Microsoft, Vicon and others.

Students who graduate from the animation and visual effects program will be prepared for entry-level employment as graphic artists, compositing artists, 3D animators and modelers, and more.

Bachelor's - Game Art & Design

Bachelor's - Motion Graphic Design

Courses are project-based and incorporate all aspects of visual design. Students utilize their extensive lab time to become proficient in a variety of applications.

A series of projects throughout the program are all directed toward the student's portfolio. The student leaves with a full body of work to show an employer both experience and creativity.

Software and hardware utilized in the program include packages from Macromedia, Adobe, Microsoft and Apple.

Graduates of the digital graphic design program are prepared to acquire entry-level employment as graphic artists and are versed in print, web and broadcast design.

Bachelor's - Sound Arts

Expression's sound arts department is dedicated to giving students the widest skill set on the planet. Whether it's mixing a record, posting a movie, composing a ringtone, sound for toys, sound for video games, recording a voice over or running a live concert, every student graduates from Expression with more knowledge than any employer could ask from them.

From the fundamentals of sound and audio acoustics, to analog consoles and tape machines, to microphones, to MIDI, to music theory, to the newest digital workstations and consoles in the audio industry today, you will be able to operate in any environment with any piece of gear you come across.
