Associate of Applied Science in Graphic DesignBack to topThe objective of the Graphic Design program is to train students in the areas of design, illustration and digital and multimedia preparation of printed and electronic materials in order to obtain an entry-level position in the graphic art field. Potential employment may include layout artist, designer, production artist, assistant art director or junior designer. Students will be introduced to basic drawing and composition skills that are essential to design layout, computer graphics presentation and production of portfolio-quality projects. In addition, students will expand their conceptual and artistic talents, obtain a basic understanding of marketing principles and business ethics, and improve their communication and interpersonal skills. The Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology offers instruction in various specialty areas leading to an Associate of Applied Science in Photographic Technology. The photography curriculum is designed to provide students with varied levels of hands-on training required for success in today's competitive job market. Students have the flexibility to study a specific field of photography, may diversify into multiple fields or may choose general applied photography. The length of the associate program is 24-27 months, depending upon the area of specialization selected. As the field of photography changes, so do the required course work and skills mastered at OIPT. Equipment and software utilized in the college's photography programs are continually reviewed to ensure graduates have the skills needed to be successful.
