Masters of Digital Media Program

The Masters of Digital Media (MDM) Program is an innovative, full-time professional graduate degree housed in the Centre for Digital Media at Great Northern Way Campus, Vancouver, Canada. During the 20-month program, including a paid, summer internship, students develop the professional skills required to be effective creators, practitioners and senior managers in the rapidly growing industry of digital media.

At Our Core: Innovative Curriculum Taught by Academic and Industry Leaders

A network of academic and industry advisors have built a challenging curriculum that addresses the needs of industry. Classes include:

• Game Development & Design
• Building Virtual Worlds
• Improvising Story & Character
• Visual Story

Coursework is complemented with project management and leadership skills development and industry-relevant team projects.

The Industry Affiliate Program: Ensuring Relevancy in Education

The MDM Industry Affiliate Program (IAP) connects businesses with MDM students, faculty and researchers. Industry Affiliates employ the best up-and-coming talent through mentoring programs and internships. They also provide sponsorship and contract opportunities for student-based projects and prototypes.

MDM Industry Affiliates include EA, Autodesk, Rainmaker, IBM, NBC/Universal and Propaganda Games, and other industry giants.

Centre for Digital Media (CDM): Redefining Student Centred Design

The Masters of Digital Media Program is located in the purpose-renovated Centre for Digital Media. Reconfigurability is a design principle at the Centre. Classrooms have multi-modal jack in capability and most surfaces are projectable. The entire facility features student-centered design. Students create and then re-create their learning space as they move through the program.
