American Sentinel University - Freedom to Learn

American Sentinel is a nationally-accredited online university offering bachelor's degrees that combine art with technology. We offer a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a Game Programming Specialization and a Bachelor of Science degree in Web Design and Development. We also offer degrees in information systems, game information security and management information systems, as well as programs outside of information technology in areas such as business and health care.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Game Programming Specialization (Online)

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Game Programming Specialization provides students with both a broad exposure to the field of computer science and specialized knowledge in the area of game programming. This program is suitable not only for students who desire to immediately enter the game programming field, but also for students who want a general degree in computer science and a wish to learn how to apply the general principles in an exciting genre. Objectives of the program include:

• Developing student understanding of the major areas of computer science and the fundamentals of game programming.
• Developing students into proficient software developers with the skills currently needed by the software industry and the ability to adapt to future developments.
• Preparing students for entry into the computer science profession, the game development industry and for entry into the American Sentinel University's Master of Science program.

Length of program: 120 hours; 60 hours of general education courses and 60 hours of courses in the major.

Bachelor of Science in Web Design and Development (Online)

The Bachelor of Science in Web Design and Development is designed for students seeking career advancement in website creation. The program is built around a core of technology-oriented specialty courses with an emphasis on web page structure, style and behavior. Objectives of the program include:

• Providing students with hands-on work in web design and development using the latest techniques.
• Creating graduates who can design web pages, create code, test and optimize web graphics and diagnose and solve problems.
• Preparing students for entry into the web development industry and for the CIW Site Designer certification.

Length of program: 120 hours; 60 hours of general education courses and 60 hours of courses in the major.
