Welcome to the NewSchool of Architecture and Design

We pride ourselves on developing men and women for responsible citizenship and careers in architecture.

At the NewSchool of Architecture and Design we offer quality instructional programs and place an emphasis on hands-on, practical experience. We maintain close relationships with the professional architectural community to be sure that your education is balanced with classroom work, design studios and the latest innovations and techniques in practice.

NewSchool offers many opportunities for student participation in lectures, student clubs and being part of a dynamic learning community. We host the renowned Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture. Our staff and faculty stand ready to help you get the most out of your time here.

NewSchool is approved by the State of California to grant seven degrees. Degrees are conferred upon successful completion of the appropriate curriculum.

Bachelor of Science in Digital Media Arts

The Digital Media Arts program at NewSchool of Architecture & Design is one of the first to bridge the design disciplines of architecture, graphic design, and 3D modeling/animation. The B.S. in Digital Media Arts offers two unique specializations to prepare students for careers in Design and Visualization or in Environmental Graphic Design, one of the most progressive design aspects in the field today focusing on the visual identity that fully integrates and compliments the built environment. Multidisciplinary and traditional aspects of the curriculum will prepare students for careers within a wide range of professions including graphic design, film, gaming, and industrial design as well as architecture, and will help them to understand the overlapping conditions of each field respectively.
