providing career-minded individuals with high quality education
in the Bay Area. Silicon Valley College has recognized that the

The Emeryville Campus
In October 2001, Silicon Valley College relocated its Oakland campus to Emeryville, located at 1400 65th Street, Suite 200, near the intersection of Hollis Street and 65th Street off interstate-80.
Our 21,000 square foot campus is divided into classrooms, labs, offices, a library, and a student lounge area. Handicapped access is available on campus. Parking is provided for all students.
Computer Graphics - Associate of Applied Science & Certificate
New technology and a changing environment in the graphics and publications field has created a demand for better training of today's graphic students. These programs are designed to provide students with essential skills and training for an entry-level position in graphic design, publications and the developing area of multimedia, 3D animation and web design. Upon completion, the student will have gained a working and hands-on knowledge of graphic design, desktop publishing, web design, and multimedia authoring. In addition students will:
- Demonstrate advanced communication skills expected in today's
professional workplace.
- Articulate an understanding of current societal themes and be
able to solve problems within their context.
- Display a well-rounded outlook inherent to an academic educational experience.
Career Opportunities
Highly skilled and professional computer graphics,
desktop publication specialists, and web design/development
professionals are in demand. People entering these job markets
are employed in many different capacities from creating
illustrations to designing and producing computer-aided graphics,
web-sites, and desktop publications. Some of the occupations
available to the graduate of this program include computer
graphic artist, graphic designer, illustrator, interface
designer, web designer/developer, production artist, and desktop
publisher. Completion of the associate-level degree program
provides graduates with the knowledge and opportunities in
mid-level positions or beyond.
